All in all, I was really pleased with the defensive performance.

This is a good game for our program. Recruiting is a part of it. Kids from the state of Arizona have a lot of pride.

These are new names that will be stepping into different roles.

Games like this give us an opportunity to show the in-state kids that they can stay in state and play at NAU.

If one guy out of 11 misses, then that costs the whole play. We had enough of those in the first half that really derailed our ability to score consistently.

There was no rhythm to our passing game early. We had some passes that weren't caught and we had some protection problems.

We were lacking some confidence and a sense of purpose that you want to start with. But nobody was panicking (at halftime), and we didn't change anything. We just came out and executed better.
